Combating plastic pollution

Upcycling Polybags

Polythene pollution is a significant and pressing issue in Sri Lanka, causing detrimental impacts on the environment and wildlife. Unfortunately, more than 50% of uncollected waste, including plastic, ends up in open dumps and the surrounding environment, exacerbating the problem.

At Ayurvie Sigiriya, we are committed to combating this plastic pollution problem and promoting sustainable practices. To address the issue of polythene waste, we have implemented a creative and eco-friendly solution. We upcycle these poly bags, converting them into reusable bags, thereby reducing their impact on the environment. By repurposing the poly bags into bags that can be used multiple times, we contribute to a greener and cleaner environment.

Our initiative not only helps in reducing plastic waste but also fosters sustainable packaging practices. By encouraging the use of reusable bags, we strive to reduce the demand for single-use plastic bags, which are a significant contributor to environmental pollution. Through this effort, we are playing our part in creating a more sustainable and eco-conscious world, one step at a time.
