The Kandy Perahera, which is a festive procession to venerate this wonderful paragon of religious history takes place every year from this temple in the month of August and is a wonderful event for tourists to experience.

Peradeniya Botanical Gardens is one of the most beautiful spots in the city with hundreds of species of flora to explore. For an experience with the gentle giants of the forest, Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is the best place to be and bath time for the elephants is certainly the highlight of the day. For those who love a little adventure, the Hanthana Mountain Range in Kandy is ideal for a challenging hike to conquer.
