Tissamaharama/Yala
Situated in the Southern Province of the island, Tissamaharama is a small town in the Hambantota district famous for its historic and religious significance. Another iconic attraction of the town would be the Tissa Wewa built by the very ruler who introduced Buddhism to Sri Lanka, King Devanampiyatissa.
Tissamaharama is well-known for its buffalo curd which is a favourite Sri Lankan delight visitors ought to try. The many paddy fields travellers will spot while exploring this area are quite soothing to the eye.
