Udawalawe
Udawalawe, located in southern Sri Lanka, is renowned for its wildlife and scenic landscapes, especially the Udawalawe National Park. The park is a sanctuary for elephants, leopards, deer, water buffalo, and numerous bird species. Nearby, the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, just 5min from the park, cares for orphaned elephants before releasing them into the wild. The region is 167 km from Colombo, making it accessible within a four-hour drive from the capital.
