Maintaining our Environment

Here at Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa, we love the untouched beauty of the east coast and do our very best to protect the environment for the local communities and future generations to enjoy. One way we do this is by organising regular beach clean-ups to keep the sparkling blues of the ocean and the soft powdery sands, pristine for the sake of people and marine life alike.

The beaches of Pasikuda are synonymous with crystal clear waters and soft, ivory shores – and we’d like to help keep them that way now, and forever!

Sadly, pollution on beaches not only disrupts coastal ecosystems on the land but also has harmful and wide-reaching consequences on our marine ecosystems. Additionally, pollution of the beaches means that local communities lose out on the opportunity to safely enjoy the natural beauty of their east coast. Therefore, one of our major environmental sustainability efforts revolves around helping keep the beaches clean. We regularly organise beach clean-ups to remove litter and pollutants from the shores.
