Waste Management – 4R

We don’t waste our waste
Image

At Aliya Resort & Spa, we have implemented a sustainable waste management system to ensure the efficient recycling of waste. Our waste management concept is born of the international 4R system, which is an amalgam of four ideas: Repurpose, Recuperate, Recycle, and Reuse.

Wastewater Treatment – We have implemented a sustainable wastewater management system. The wastewater is treated in the hotel’s sewage treatment plant, and the treated water is used to irrigate the garden. The dried sludge from the treatment process is repurposed as fertilizer. This closed-loop system conserves water ensures the purity of irrigation water, and reduces waste, showcasing the hotel’s commitment to responsible water management and sustainability.

Solid Food Waste: We have implemented a sustainable approach to solid food waste management. Instead of letting it go to waste, we collect the food waste and provide it to local farmers as a valuable feed source for poultry and farm animals. This practice reduces environmental impact, promotes a circular economy, and supports sustainable agricultural practices. We are committed to responsible waste management and maximizing resource efficiency in our operations.

Paper Waste: Our in-house paper recycling center minimizes paper waste. All paper waste is collected and recycled to produce practical items like baggage tags, drip mats, and souvenirs. This sustainable practice reduces the resort’s environmental footprint, conserves resources, and promotes a circular economy. The resort’s commitment to responsible resource management and recycling inspires others in the hospitality industry to adopt similar sustainable practices.
