Sustainability at Kithala Resort

Securing the future for next generation!
Image

As we proudly announce ourselves as a nature resort in Tissamaharama, we think it’s our responsibility to take measures to protect and preserve our environment as well as our community. We live the talk by giving something back to our community and conserving our tropical environment.

Our Philosophy

Our resort sits in the midst of paddy fields, the soul of Sri Lanka’s dry zone. Our firm bond with our surroundings and community dictates that we become the custodian of the tropical beauty and rich culture that engulf our resort.

We have en-rooted sustainability in everything we do: It is a core concept of our waste management system. We also heavily invest in environmental research to find solutions for our dwindling biodiversity. More than 80% of the fresh produce we use is locally grown.

Green Moments in Every Square

Throwback to a day full of learning and new flavors! As the campaign partner for the ‘Lesser-known Foods of Sri Lanka’ initiative by @undpsrilanka, @wfpsrilanka, and the @ministry_of_environment_lk, we welcomed 25 hotel school students from Sigiriya to @aliyaresortbythema by @themacollectionsrilanka.

Our chefs demonstrated how to turn underutilized ingredients like Moringa and Cluster Figs into delicious dishes! This was a great way to share the importance of our authentic food while giving our future hospitality industry a new way to think about food.
