As one of the most eco-friendly resorts in Sri Lanka, we treat the matter of sustainability very seriously here at Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa. We run multiple sustainability initiatives to uplift the lives of our local environment and communities. From environmental conservation and restoration to employment creation and youth empowerment through education, we help a number of people and the planet via a foundation we support called Reconstruire et Vivre (R.eV.).

We invest a significant amount of our time and resources in measures that will actively improve the lives of our staff and local communities as well as safeguard our beautiful, east coast environment. This includes initiatives such as our Coral Restoration project; R.e.V Computer and Language School; beach clean-up programs; efforts to increase regional job opportunities; and our contribution to the continued economic development of Pasikudah and the east coast.

Walk with us into the wild and let’s explore stories of survival, strength, and quiet beauty from Sri Lanka’s wilderness, captured through the lenses of Dushyanth Silva, Milinda Wattegedara, Mevan Piyasena, and Raveendra Siriwardena.

This exhibition is a collaboration between Alliance Française de Kotte in Colombo, Thema Collection, Connaissance De Ceylan, and the Wilderness & Wildlife Foundation.

Recently, our team at Amba Yaalu Kandalama came together for a meaningful Shramadana campaign, collecting 9kg of plastic, 10kg of polythene, and 15kg of glass bottles and cans. A few of those discarded cans found a second life, and they’re now bright little homes for some growing saplings!!
