Wild Glamping Knuckles, Wild Glamping Gal Oya & Mountbatten Bungalow Receive the Good Travel Seal Level 01 Certificate!

Wild Glamping Knuckles, Wild Glamping Gal Oya and Mountbatten Bungalow received the Good Travel Seal Level 01 Certification in recognition of their impactful sustainability efforts at the esteemed SME Sector Sustainable Certificate Awarding Ceremony – 2024 took place on May 29, 2024, at the Bandaranaike Memorial Conference Hall, which graced by the presence of Minister Harin Fernando, the Minister of Tourism, Lands, Sports, and Youth Affairs of Sri Lanka.

Sustainability has become an important aspect of a country’s tourism development. In light of this, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed an agreement to establish the National Sustainable Tourism Certificate Scheme (NSTCS) in Sri Lanka. This certification scheme promotes a more sustainable tourism sector in Sri Lanka, engaging all tourism stakeholders. Under this scheme, over 100 small and medium enterprises in the tourism industry were recently awarded. SLTDA organised the event in partnership with UNDP, NSTCS, Green Destinations, and the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN).
