Thema Collection and Connaissance De Ceylan Redefine Inbound Travel to Sri Lanka: An Inspiring Journey of Inclusivity

From November 8th to 18th, a remarkable group of 22 differently-abled travelers with hearing and speech impairments embarked on a 10-night, 11-day tour of Sri Lanka. This inclusive journey, spanning iconic destinations such as the Cultural Triangle, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Tissamaharama, Kalutara, and Colombo, not only celebrated Sri Lanka’s cultural and natural heritage but also redefined accessibility in tourism.

Organized by Transuniverse France and managed locally by Connaissance De Ceylan, this tour was thoughtfully curated to meet the specific needs of the group. Two interpreters from France accompanied the travelers, ensuring seamless communication and enabling them to fully engage with Sri Lanka’s wonders.

A highlight of the journey was the group’s stay at two Thema Collection properties—Aliya Resort & Spa in Sigiriya and Kithala Resort in Tissamaharama. Known for their thematic designs and eco-conscious hospitality, these properties exemplified Thema Collection’s commitment to inclusivity and sustainability. By offering tailored services and ensuring accessibility, the properties played a pivotal role in delivering a comfortable and enriching experience for the travelers.

This initiative reflects Connaissance De Ceylan’s and Thema Collection’s shared dedication to fostering accessibility in tourism. By providing thoughtfully crafted itineraries and welcoming accommodations, they showcased the transformative power of inclusive travel.

The success of this tour sets an inspiring precedent for the global tourism industry, highlighting the potential of Sri Lanka as a destination that welcomes all. It also underscores the commitment of Thema Collection to redefining travel experiences, creating meaningful journeys that transcend barriers and celebrate diversity.

Thema Collection is proud to have been part of this remarkable story, contributing to a travel experience that emphasizes inclusivity and demonstrates how tourism can bring people together, regardless of physical or sensory abilities.
